Kaviza now with Citrix HDX Protocol

Our partners from Kaviza announced this week, that their upcoming version of the VDI-in-a-Box appliance is going to support Citrix HDX now as a protocol (http://bit.ly/daxn3T). Best to my knowledge, this is the first outside partner who succeeded to licenses this technology. What a great move … from both: Citrix and Kaviza. Citrix recognized that Kaviza has some great technology to drive virtual desktop infrastructures into small and medium-sized companies. And Kaviza now can clearly state that they have a turn-key solution that is cost sensitive, easy to use and provided the best possible end-user experience. Well done my friends!

I’m looking forward to see which next great strike Kumar Goswami and this team is going to place. This company truly has the potential to be a game changer.

It is always fun to see when two companies you work with decide to partner. Like in this case. Matrix42 and Kaviza agreed to partner. Great move. Matrix42 and their IT-Commerce strategy is truly a great solution for any IT service provider to support their end users. And Kaviza has a compelling solution to deliver virtual desktops to end users. When these two companies come together and combine their solutions it can only generate a great offering for their combined clients. For the first time, end users will be able to go to a intranet site – Matrix42′s service catalog – and order a complete virtual desktop environment – powered by Kaviza – as simply as ordering a book from Amanozon.com or buying a video via iTunes. Matrix42 brings IT-Commerce to Microsoft System Center users

On this year’s Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas, Matrix42 showed their integration for their IT-Commerce solution into the Microsoft System Center platform (http://bit.ly/bYHBU2) and they announced that they are now a member of the Microsoft System Center Alliance. A very interesting move. Some years ago, Matrix42 was known as a niche player who is offering a clever PC lifecycle management solution for medium sized companies. But over the last 18 months, nice the company merged with the innovative, smaller ITSM vendor Update4u, an interesting transition has happened. Today, Matrix42 is a leader in the IT-Commerce space and on their way to redefine client management following their IT-Commerce strategy. And now, at latest with this announcement and their public statement that they will integrate with Microsoft’s management platform they have also documented that they are not only a player for SMBs. I think it was wise from them to focus their efforts on end-user needs rather than following the trend to move into the data center. It will be interesting to see how they continue to expand their story and their footprint in the IT management market. I doubt that they have reached the end of the road already.

Besides full support for Windows 7 (incl. 64bit clients) and full support for Citrix XenDesktop, they are introducing two brand new products: ErasePro and PowerPro. ErasePro is a security management solution to ensure the complete wiping of deleted files and PowerPro is a power configuration management solution that combines the needs of a endpoint security product with cost saving, green IT functions.
